Q. What is Flash Lite 1.1
A. Flash Lite 1.1 allows developers to create and deploy Macromedia Flash content on mobile phones.

Q. is it the same player that they issued before?
A. No, this is version 1.1. The old one was 1.0.

Q. How do I get the Flash Lite player
A. flash developers have to buy the flash lite player from macromedia to test their applications on a mobile phone. i think its $9.99. Go the the mobile and devices portal at macromedia.com and you can buy it there.

Q. how can the users of cellars with flash lite, download aplications to his cells?
A. I believe you can just send it to you cellphone email address, it will recognize it as a runnable file .
or download content to your PC and transfer it across to your mobile via bluetooth/infra red/memory card
or access a defined url via your handset's GPRS browser and download content direct to your phone or a memory card.

Q. Is the _quality command equivalent to fscommand2("SetQuality","low" ) ?
A. Yes. you can use it like this:
_quality = low;
or
fscommand2("SetQuality","low");

Q. does flash lite or other support Microsoft smartphone?
A. no

Q. getting FL for treo 600/650 should be straightforward ... anyone working on this?
A. Contact palm and ask them.

Q. Does this engine only work on mobile phones ?
A. yes.

Q. When will flash lite 1.1 phones be released/sold in US? any Flash Lite commitment by U.S. carriers?

A. No, only Japan afaik.

Q. Any flash lite providers in Asia pacific - Especially India?
A. No.

Q. what about different mobile screen sizes? Will flash lite be able to scaleapp to display properly amongst different screen sizes?
A. The screensize for a nokia 3650 is 176 x 208

Q. can we use flash lite with flash communication server?
A. no

Q. How do you do input text focus?
A. The user has to press the up, down, left, right etc. to select a textfield.

Q. Will buttons be focused automatically?
A. The user has to select a button using up down left right and press the enter (center) key.

Q. Does Flash lite support a video player?
A. No.

Q. Will it be possible to get video on flash lite in the future?
A. Pester Macromedia about it.

Q. When is FLashCast going to launch/be available to developers? FlashCast CDK? any dates... Regarding Dynamic content, who is responsible for Flash Cast servers?
A. Currrently being evaluated.

Q do we have any simulators/emulators for testing flash lite content ?
A. no

Q. I know that screensavers' file format is largely proprietary based on the device being used- can flash swf's be used as screensavers on some mobile devices?
A. In Japan, flash screensavers are possible. eg. series 60 nokia.

A. Yes. afaik.

Q. Can you use flash lite with flash remoting ?
A. no

Q. How do Flash lite handle HTTP Get an Post request
A. yes afaik, use getURL and post and get properties.

Q will we be able to make FL .sis installers in the future? (in order to make a standalone app with an icon)
A. No info as yet.

Q. Are shared objects supported?
A. No. Flash Lite 1.1 is based on Flash 4 commands set.

Q. How reduce dithering in images?
A. Compress etc in graphics program and import into flash.
