Making DVDs and VCD's in VideoWave 5 Power Edition
Create personalised DVD's and VideoCds complete with interactive menus, buttons, backgrounds, Audio,

Right mouse click on the library window and select "Add Files."
Browse and locate the video and audio clips that you would like to use.

On the Mode Selector click on the "DVD" button to create your VCD/DVD.
Authoring

The Project Dialog will appear.
Select DVD, Mini DVD or VCD
Adding Background Image

On the mode Selector, click on the Background pictures button in Authoring Mode.

Select the Background that you would like to use.

Left mouse click on the background picture in the Background library.

Drag and drop the picture into the View screen. You should see your background applied in the view screen.

Any image can be used as a background. Simply add it to the library before entering DVD authoring mode.

Adding Video Assets:

Note:
The video assets added in this step can be of any format supported by Video Wave 5. Such as AVI, MPEG-2, or MPEG-1.
Before burning Videowave will convert all video assets to MPEG-2 for DVD and Mini DVD and MPEG-1 for VCD's.

On the Mode Selector, click on the Video Button in Authoring Mode.

From the video library, drag the video titles to the Viewscreen. VideoWave will automatically generate a thumbnail
button with your video.
Adding Buttons

On the mode Selector click on "Buttons" button in Authoring mode.

From the button library drag a button to the thumbnail you would like to change.

You can resize the thumbnail by using the mouse and dragging the edges.

To change the image in your thumbnail using the mouse, highlight the thumbnail and move the frame slider to advance
to a more appropriate frame.

To easily arrange your thumbnails, press the grid button below the viewscreen. This will also snap the buttons to grid.
Assigning Chapters

Note: Within each title you can assign chapters. When the DVD title is playing chapters can be accessed by pressing the
<<| (Next Chapter) or |>> (Previous chapter) Button.

Highlight the title in the Disc Contents Strip. Click on the edit chapter button inside the Disc Content Strip.

Using the Slider, advance to the title to the frame that will represent the start of a new chapter.
Click the Add button
Adding Text

On the mode Selector click on the Text Effects Button in Authoring Mode.

By default the filename will appear below each thumbnail.

Double click the text under the thumbnail. Edit as necessary.

To change the text style, drag the style from the text library to the text on the Viewscreen.

To change the text colour highlight the text under the thumbnail and press the color button below the Viewscreen.

Using the colour sliders, change the text colour.

To change the font style, highlight the text under the thumbnail and press the font button below the Viewscreen.
Select desired font size and style.
Adding Audio:

You can add 1 audio track to each menu, to run as background music.

On the Mode Selector, click on Audio button in Authoring Mode.

From the audio library drag a sound file to the Viewscreen.

Pressing the Preview Audio Button below the Viewscreen will playback your audio.
Burning a DVD or VCD
-
Click on the Burn Disc icon at the botton of the Mode Selector

You have the option to burn your files to Hard Drive & DVD or just DVD.

Select the appropriate Settings (PAL, Write Speed etc.) and press "Burn"
